GFWC-BIG RAPIDS TEDDY BEAR CAMPAIGN

As an advocate for children, one of the many projects sponsored by the General Federation of Woman’s Club-Big Rapids is the Foster Child Suitcase Program. Each year, the club secures suitcases and places a blanket, flashlight/nightlight, books and a stuffed toy for the younger kids in the suitcases. They are then labeled by gender and age range and delivered to the Department of Health and Human Services. When children are taken from their homes and placed in foster care, they are given a suitcase to put their belongings in instead of a plastic garbage bag. Hopefully this assists a little in their transition during this difficult time.

Drop off teddy bears in the lobby of Artworks from April 15th to May 31st. Donated bears should be 12" or shorter and be of the soft, plush variety; preferable new but used in good condition is acceptable.
